ArchaeoBootcamp was founded in 2017 as an alternative Spring Break program offering college students an opportunity to learn more about archaeological field work before committing time and resources to a full field school. It has also become a fantastic professional development opportunity for teachers and other busy members of the work force wanting hands-on experience in archaeology!
ArchaeoBootcamp is not an archaeological field school, and completion of this educational program does not qualify students to work as archaeologists. For a fully RPA-accredited field school experience, check out our Shining a Light on the Past Field School at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area!
This four-day bootcamp in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum provides its participants with experience in excavation, artifact analysis, remote sensing technology like laser scanning and ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and educational talks about careers in archaeology and the history of the Jupiter Inlet!
Hosted in partnership with Flagler College, ArchaeoBootcamp Skills Weekends features a series of three weekends dedicated to different techniques and methods involved in recording and exploring archaeological resources. Click here for more information and registration.
