Barbara Clark serves as the Regional Director for both the Northwest and North Central Regional Centers of the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN). She holds a B.S. in Anthropology from Florida State University (2005), an M.A. in Archaeology and Heritage from the University of Leicester (2008), and a Master of Public Administration from the University of West Florida (2019).
Barbara began working with FPAN in 2010 as the Outreach Coordinator for the North Central Region, following her earlier work in cultural resource management with a private firm specializing in the Southeastern United States.
She is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and has served on the boards of both the Florida Archaeological Council and the Register of Professional Archaeologists. Barbara is the current Chair of the Tallahassee Trust for Historic Preservation and an Advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She also serves as Secretary and founding board member of the Northwest Florida Maritime Landscape Alliance for Preservation (MLAP), and is an appointed member of the Tallahassee/Leon County Advisory Committee for Quality Growth.
Barbara remains actively involved in the profession and her community, volunteering with several local nonprofits in Tallahassee and serving on various professional boards. Her key areas of expertise include advocacy at the state and local level, historic cemeteries, disaster planning, and supporting rural communities in heritage preservation using asset-based community development principles.
